Our Church History
Michael Joseph Carter is a native Washingtonian. He is the husband of Elder Cynthia Carter and father
of two wonderful daughters, Mia and Kimberly. He has one grandson, Michael and one granddaughter, Trinity. He has always displayed a shepherds heart and genuine care for people. With his heart, open
and obedient to God, the seed of one day pastoring was planted and allowed to grow. He completed his ministerial training at The National Church of God MIP program where he served as the Director of Prison Ministries. He later served as an Elder at Reach Out For Life Christian Center. He has been ordained by Evangel Assembly Ministers Network Association and currently serves as an instructor and board member of The Waldorf School of The Bible. He is a diligent, tireless researcher and believes in the integrity of The Word of God.
In August of 2002, Pastor Carter established The Living Word Christian Ministries. The ministry is the realization from the vision that God birthed in Pastor Carter who was led to provide a venue where; the presence of God abides, where the people are taught truth and where a warm family atmosphere is encouraged. Our initial services were held in Berry Elementary School located in Waldorf, Maryland. God blessed us a few years later as we moved into our own leased building. As the ministry vision continued to grow, God provided. We were able to purchase property on Bunker Hill Road, site of our current location. The building known formerly as The Proctors Inn was transformed into a house of worship.
Since arriving at our current location, we have been able to expand upon the vision by organizing programs, establishing community outreach, mentoring programs for our youth and establishing ministry partnerships that touch lives and express the heart of God, locally, nationally and internationally.
Our history unfolds a vision that speaks to the potential of what a seed planted in Pastor Carter, growing in good soil can produce.
We are purposed to continue developing and impacting lives. This we do to the glory of God.
