Discovering Your Purpose | The Principle

Sep 8, 2023 | by Teacher Michael Carter

One of the most importent things in our lives is to discover God's purposes.

Fact is: we all were created by God for His will, pleasure, plans and purposes.

Kingdom Principle: God is a God of purpose.

Everything that God says, allows, does or creates has a purpose. This includes us.
Discovering and completing our God given purposes is imperative to our lives and faith. Our purposes cause us to have a void in our hearts that needs fulfilling. Discovering and fulfilling God's purposes will fill it as well as answer the question that we all ask; why am I here. In the following instructions, we will look at the principle of purpose and how importance it is to discover and complete it. Then we will look at a few signs that can lead to us discovering God's purposes for our live and the need and importence of serving.

"The most important days in our lives is the day we were born and the day we discover why". author unknown
“The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but a life without a purpose.” ~ Myles Munroe

Purpose points to an end result that defines the why we do what we do.
The thinking may be sound like this; I’m purposed to do this because this will be affected, or they will be affected, or this will occur, or the kingdom of God will be effectived. Or, this needs to be changed or this needs to be done. The vision or end result is the motivation. It's the driving force behind purpose. Vision is a current picture of something that will happen, be changed, completed, or brought to pass in the future. The vision or end results drives and defines our purpose. It gives us our why.
When we pursue our purpose, our leadership spirit will be awakened and we will grow and evolve naturally and spiritually.
Often it’s dormant because it doesn’t have a job or something to champion. Many just go through life, following the current
wave and going along with the tide. Discovering and pursuing purpose, may require that we step out of the regular into your purpose. Purpose awakens our leadership spirit and gives it a job. Our inner leadership is awakened to champion the vision, cause and end result to bring it to pass.

Discovering and completing our seasonal purposes can impact others, our lives and it is necessary and imperative to our natural and spiritually development. We will come to know God as our sufficiency and become our best rendition of ourselves and bring glory to God as our creator and the one who called us to do it and enable us to complete it.

Discovering God’s seasonal purposes for our live is paramount and primary.

Discovering our purpose gives our lives significance, fulfillment and glorifies God as our chief architect and designer. If you desire to please God and position yourself to hear the Lord say to you: well done, thou good and faithful servant: you’ve got to discover, walk in, and complete your purposes. We all have God given purposes. Otherwise, we would not be here. You don’t need validation from people; your presence alone gives you validation and significance because God allowed you to be here according to His plan and purposes. Our life long task is to discover and complete those purposes to the glory of God.

Purpose is God’s signature on creation – Romans 1:20.
Although this text is correcting them, it also speaks to God’s intelligence, intent and purposes being revealed in creation.
The principle of purpose is God’s signature on creation as its creator, architect and designer. God creates according to the principle of purpose. Therefore, purpose is inherent in all of creation. Everything He creates, He creates it with an end purpose
in mind. Therefore, He designs and equips it with everything it needs to accomplish those purposes.

One of the most fascinating and important parts of nature that speaks to this is pollination.
Most pollination is done by bugs and bees. They are responsible for the reproduction of a lot of the foods we eat. Yep, we owe a great deal of our food to bugs. Remove them and the eco system will start to breakdown and eventually collapse. The concept of pollination is purposed by God, and a part of the DNA code He placed in nature when He created it.

Within that dynamic, there is an interesting point of purpose in regards to pollination.
Pollination occurs when an insect visits the flower's pollen and nectar for food and then moves on to the next. Pollen sticks to their feet and bodies as they move from plant to plant. Pollen grains from the male part of one flower (anther) are transferred to the female part (stigma) of another flower. Once pollination occurs, the fertilized flowers produce seeds, which enable the plant to reproduce. This is the process of pollination. Each part incorporates the principle of purpose. A closer look unveils that specific colors attract bugs and bees to certain plants and flowers. That attraction leads them to that plant or flower, thus, the process of pollination occures.

They are DNA coded and physically designed to be attracted to specific plants and a flowers color because they only see in certain light spectrums of color that draws them to that plant. The colorful things in nature that we find beautiful and pleasing to the eye, God has purposed it to be a major cog in the fulfillment of pollination.

    God is a God of purpose;
He doesn’t create anything without a purpose to be fulfilled. Just because we don't know that purpose doesn't mean that it has none. We just may not know what it is. Unfortunately, when we don't understand a things purpose we tend to devalue it or abuse it. Discovering and walking in purpose positions us to avoid abuse, recognize value and
it enables us to experience fulfillment in our lives. We were created according to God's purposes. Discovering and completing them should a priority to us all.

God created and designed us according to His plan, will, pleasure, and purposes.

    2nd Timothy 1:9

As our creator and manufacture, He creates the purposes and context for our lives, not us, or the world.
As with any manufacturer, He defines our abilities, potential, behavour and standards according to His will and purposes. Understanding and walking in those purposes lines us up with God's will, taps our potential and causes us to become our very best. Your best life is defined in discovering and completing your purposes. Revelation 4:11 / Colossians 1:16

“When a manufacturer creates a new product, he lets the product’s inherent use govern the design, function and nature of the product so that the fulfillment of its purpose is inseparably built into it. Purpose predicts the nature of something, and nature is that which a product inherently is”. ~ Dr. Myles Monroe

We were designed, equipped and graced by God to succeed and complete our purposes.
God is the best manufacturer of all times. Romans 12:6 / Ephesians 3:7 What God creates, He equips and endows according to its propose. As with any manufacture, God created us to succeed according to our purpose. God will not lead you to do something or make a demand of you without giving you the ability and potential to accomplish it. If He is leading you to do it, He will provide and enable you to succeed and complete the task. This brings us fulfillment, significance and glorifies God. When lined up with His purpose our success is guaranteed.

    Our presence alone indicates purpose.
No matter the circumstances surrounding how you got here, none of us are a mistake. We are present at the right time according to God’s purposes to impact the world we live in. Your purposes are not just about you, they can impact the environment and the world you live in. Look at the guy holding the pitcher in Luke 22:7- 14. His presence indicated where the disciple would participate in communion with the Lord. He was purposed by God to be in that exact spot at a certain time. It contextualized his life and gave it significance.

Discovering and completing our purposes should be a primary pursuit of us all. It answers the question most ask: why am I here? And it gives our live significance fulfillment and glorifies God when we complete it.

The principle of purpose speaks to God’s Creative & Life purposes for our lives.

~ We all have creative purposes assigned to us by God.
Creative purposes are not chosen; they are taught accepted, developed and are consistent. They line our lives up with God’s creative purposes as humans. They speak to us being responsible adults, leaders exercising God’s dominion, expressing His will and character. They also speaks to our creative purposes as parents, protectors and care givers. Creative purposes are associated with life, its perpetuation, society and social order. Their standards and application comes from their creator, God, not this world.

When lined up according to God's word, God's creative purposes impact the sphere of our influence and position us for success. However, when not lined up with God's word, people  will fail to fulfill those creative purposes according to God's word and society, the family and other social standards and orders are negatively impacted. We are experiencing it in our culture today. The absence of Godly parenting according to God's design and purposes are negatively impacting young people, the family structure, communities and more.

Remember how God warned Eli to be a parent and correct his sons. God was correcting his creative purpose as a father.
Being spiritually inclined is inclusive of our natural creative responsibilities and purposes. Unfortunately Eli did not listen to God. He failed in his creative purpose as a parent. Although Eli failed as a parent, his adult sons could have chose to do things God's way. But they did not. His sons died and Eli eventually lost his position as priest and his life as well. look at Samuel 3.

Often God looks at how we execute our creative purposes as a measuring stick to release life purposes to us. 1Timothy 3:1-5

~ We all have life purposes assigned to us by God.

Our life purposes are defined by how we use the life time that are given to serve accoding to God's purposes in that season.

A life purpose can be a ministry office, calling, job, an appointment, a leadership role, a project, an assignment, a business, task or an initiative. If we desire to experience success, fulfillment, please and glorify God, we must discover and complete our life purposes.  Discovering our life purposes lines us up with God's will in that season of our lives. Our life purposes are discovered not chosen. We will look at a few signs to assist in discovering our purpose in the next teachings.

Keep in mind that our life purposes are seasonal and subject to change.
Consider Philip;  we find him appointed to serve as a deacon in Acts 6:1-5. Then in Acts 8:5-13 we find his purpose changed when he went to Samaria Acts 8:5. Then in Acts 21:8, he was referred to as Philip the evangelist. He experienced several seasonal changes. Our seasonal purposes will change, be willing to follow God when there is a seasonal change of purpose. If we remain in a place that God is trying to move us from, we will find it not garnering the same satisfaction or fulfillment.

In addition, often there will be an absence of inner peace and you may be losing your passion for that area. And the grace of God and His provisions may no longer flow as before. It may be time to seek God for your next season of purpose. Be encouraged, this season has prepared you for the next. God will always prepare and position you to overcome, succeed and win according to His will and purposes.
Remember, God's success is not measured by this world's success. It is defined by your growth and completion of purpose.

However, it's not good to live life without a purpose
When you don’t know your purpose it becomes difficult to discover why you are here; so you aimlessly wonder through life, from experience to experience. And actually, experiences are not the problem. We all need to experiment and have experiences. It exsposes us to diffferent things and helps us grow and find our way and purpose. The problem is being fixated on the experience without gleaning from it, and adding direction and purpose to your life. You’ll simply keep experimenting, but not learning or being focused or directed according to God' purposes. Keep in mind, it becomes easier to say no, when you have something to say yes too.

Living without purpose is like driving around aimlessly not knowing why or where you’re going. Proverbs 29:18
Without purpose you don’t know which way to turn, and more importent, which way not to turn. And without purpose you have no discipline, so you go with the flavor of the hour. You don’t know which way to go or not to go, so you end up someplace that may not be good or profitable for you. And you are wondering how you got there. You go there because you have no discipline of purpose. Unfortunately life is not like the gas tank of our cars, you can refule it once it gets low.
Time is the one thing we cannot refuel or get back. That live time given to complete our purposes is precouse. Discover and complete your creative and life purposes, it makes good use of our time. Ephesians 5:14-17

Consider making discovering and fulfillment your life purposes a priority in your life.
Often some see happiness as fulfillment. However, they are not the same. Happiness is associated with things, experiences, emotions and sometimes circumstances. And desiring to be happy is fine, we all want to be happy. But it's not fulfillment. Fulfillment comes with the completion of purpose. Discovering and completing our God given purposes brings fulfillment to our lives and glorifies God as our creator who designed and empowered us to do it. Not discovering and fulfilling it leads to an unfulfilled life. No matter how happy you are, not fulfilling your God given purpose will keep a void in your heart and life.

No matter what you accomplish or do in life to experience happiness, if it does not complete your God given purpose, you will not experience fulfillment. And you will find yourself always searching to fill that void. That inner void is filled and you experience fulfillment when you discover and complete your purpose. Consider making discovering and fulfilling your God given purpose a priority in your lifeBeing fulfilled is the ultimate affirmation and approbation from God. It’s His well done resonating in our hearts.

Discovering your purpose is a life long journey that’s ordered by God                         in steps and seasons. Psalm 37:23

We are to discover God’s purpose for our lives in that particular step or season. Discovering and walking in your seasonal purpose should be your primary goal in life. Otherwise you will live aimlessly and be unfulfilled in life.

    You want to know what you are purpose to do in this season;
    be prepared and complete it.
Although God knows our entire existence, He orders our life purposes in stepsThis again speaks to our life purposes changing through out our life’s journey. Understanding this enables us to discover it easier, live in the present and be prepared for the next seasons. Although we should plan ahead, be mindful to be where your feet are and live in that moment. Discovering our purposes is a lifelong journey that impacts and influences our lives as well as others.

God is a God of purpose. And He has created us to fullfill our creative and life purposes to His glory.

If you desire to experience fulfillment in life, please and glorify God; discover and complete your
God given purposes. Our creative and life purposes are essential to our lives others, and the world we live in, They impact our homes, communities, churches, nation, and God’s Kingdom. They impact and influence our lives naturally and spiritually. The principle of purpose speaks to why we are here. We are here to complete our creative and life purposes, to the glory of GodColossians 3:17

Thankfully, there are purpose indicators and Signs to assist us in discovering our
    God given purposes.
As we look at them, ask yourself; have any of these signs or indicators presented themselves in my life, and how did you interpret or respond to them? Having looked at them in the light of purpose, you may look at them a little differently.
Let's look at them and take note to pray about them. You want to be in God's will in that season.
